I used to squeeze them out with an eyedropper and check them out with my Sears microscope. They are, after all, "brine" shrimp, and evaporated salt water makes a better brine. The more algae crap and harsh treatment you give them, the better they do. Pretty much, Sea Monkeys are the exact opposite of a fish tank. The "food" will turn into a dense green algae mass, and they seem to love that. The common Monkey pokes around at the bottom amid the decaying bodies and debris.
Little ones get born fairly often, and other ones die and sink to the bottom.
